The nuance is not to overdo it. His QB+WR1+one bring-back is three correlated players in the game — powerful. But if he’d jammed five players from the same matchup, he’d have created extreme variance: the projected shootout sometimes plays out as a 13–10 slog, and then all five disappoint at once and his week craters. He also avoids the trap of thinking all same-team pairings are equally correlated — a WR and RB from one offense can go negatively correlated in a run-heavy blowout (great for the RB, quiet for the WR).
