High implied team totals drive fantasy production because scoring in football requires both passing (to score quickly when trailing) and run-pass balance (when leading). In-season drafts: use team totals for schedule analysis. When drafting in August, you cannot know the exact game totals for each week — those are only set close to kickoff. What you can do is identify teams projected to be high-scoring offenses overall. Teams that rank in the top 10 in offensive efficiency metrics and play in favorable divisions tend to have elevated weekly implied totals throughout the season.

Target players on teams with high projected team totals. A WR on a team expected to score 27–30 points per game sees more total plays, more passing opportunities, and more two-minute drill snaps than a WR on a team expected to score 19–20 per game.

Divisional schedule context. Teams that play 6 divisional games against weak defenses have a built-in schedule advantage for implied totals. Identify these teams in the off-season and overweight their skill players in best ball.
