Nobody remembers what their bench scored in Week 9 of 2023. Everybody remembers the year the last-place team blew it all up and came back to win it all. Those narratives are what keep managers logging in for season eight.

- Mark the milestones. A 10-0 start, a record-setting week, a third straight title, a rebuild’s first playoff berth — name them and note them. Unmarked, they evaporate. Marked, they become the league’s history.
- Lean into rivalries. When two managers keep colliding, don’t smooth it over — feature it. A named rivalry (with a side bet, a trophy, a running record) generates more engagement than any scoring tweak.

- Let it grow organically. You can seed narratives, but the best ones surprise everyone. Your job is to notice and amplify them, not script them.

- Treated as a transaction: It’s a line in the trade log. The league shrugs. He quietly drafts well, and two years later he’s good again, but nobody connected the dots.
- Treated as a narrative: The commissioner frames it in the chat — “The [Team Name] Rebuild begins.” The bold sell-off becomes a talking point. The next two drafts are watched. When the young core finally wins a title in Year 3, it isn’t just a championship — it’s the payoff of a three-year story the whole league lived through. That manager is now invested for life, and so is everyone who watched.
The roster moves were identical. The framing turned a transaction into a saga — and the saga is what creates the engagement.
Dynasty’s real product is not the rankings or the rosters; it is the accumulated history that only time can produce. A manager who plays for the story — and a commissioner who documents it — builds a league that members measure their fantasy lives by.
